36 weeks- Ah!!

Special thanks to Gretchen for taking these beautiful pictures!  More to be posted on Facebook soon!

How far along? 36 weeks- my friend Allison has described herself as a ticking time bomb once she was about this far along... so we'll see when our little man decides to show up!
Baby's size?
The internets say baby is the size of a honeydew melon and 17-18 inches long.  We're going to say he's still 6-6.25 lbs since the internets say babies this far are only 4-5 lbs...

Maternity clothes? Such a silly question now, but yes, I'm still wearing maternity clothes.
Sleep: No so much now that I'm itching...all the time...

Best moment(s) this past week: Enjoying the cool weather!  It feels cool in the morning people!  And when there's a breeze too!  So very excited!  Also, a sweet Haitian woman from my church brought over different foods to try so she can bring us what we liked best when the baby comes- yay for not having to cook dinner and yummy food from Haiti!

Miss Anything? Today, gooey eggs- can't wait to eat those after baby comes!

Movement: He's less violet with his movements but still just as frequent.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really...

Cravings: Again- gooey eggs!  With toast- oh so good!

Labor Signs: Some crampy feels yesterday morning and today, but still no progress according to Dr. appt today.

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Still itching, still huge feeling, still tired everyday.
Belly Button in or out? It still pops a bit at the top- we may make it yet!
Wedding rings on or off? Off with the pretty pearly ring on!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Very moody... with the itching I just feel trapped in my body... blah...
Looking forward to: NO MORE ITCHING! Meet our little boy- it'll be such a change but I can't wait!

35 weeks and 8 months!

See, I promised lots of pictures :o)

How far along? 35 weeks
Baby's size?  At the ultrasound, they estimated that our little boy is 6-6.25 lbs.   The websites say he's about as big as a coconut and between 17-18 inches long.
Total weight gain: My scale says I'm only 35 lbs.  Weird that I lost a couple pounds... probably just the difference between scales at home vs. dr's office..
Maternity clothes? Yep, now with the very trendy belly belt to help support the baby weight (worn under the clothes, so it's not terribly awkward looking...)

Sleep:Rain storms and late naps are keeping me awake, but can't really complain too much about either :o)

Best moment(s) this past week: Checking off items on the baby to-do list!  It's so nice that it's all coming together.  Also, not sure if I mentioned it in my last post, but I had such a blast at my baby shower!  My friend Audrey did an amazing job- so grateful for her!

Miss Anything?  Not itching :o(  Getting out of bed without effort.  Not needing a nap (sometimes 2...) to get through the day

Movement: He's definitely still rolling!  Nathan saw him in action today and was just in awe with it all!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, but I have some definite strong opinions on what I want to eat :o)

Cravings: Mac and cheese- the from the box kind!  So so good!

Labor Signs: Still the Braxton Hicks.  Not dilated yet according to my dr's appt today.

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Itching everywhere!  Apparently I have a fun pregnancy rash thing called PUPPP that lasts until delivery (hopefully gone 2-3 days after baby arrives).  It pretty much is awful.
Belly Button in or out? It's popping out a little on the top... I don't think it's going to make it another month... :o)

Wedding rings on or off? Still wearing my temporary ring- it's a bit tight, but with the weather cooling down, I think it'll be perfect for another couple of weeks.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, I think.  Nathan has been so sweet, compassionate, and helpful this week, especially with the PUPPP.  Otherwise, I think I would be crying a LOT more.  Itchies really stink...
Looking forward to: NO MORE ITCHING! :o)  Also, a relaxing date with husband this weekend.  Getting very excited to meet our little man!

34 weeks!

How far along? 34 weeks
Baby's size? 4.5 lbs, 18 inches, about the size of a cantaloupe!
Total weight gain: 38 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yep!  Can't wait for it to cool down so I can enjoy the few Fall shirts I bought way back in May.
Sleep:We're officially at 2 potty breaks a night, but thankfully I usually can fall asleep quickly afterwards.

Best moment(s) this past week: Maybe it's strange, but I really enjoyed our breastfeeding class- I learned a lot and feel like I have a good community of support from professionals and loved ones to be able to breastfeed.  Bring baby, I'm ready to do this!  In 6 weeks :o)

Miss Anything?  Really miss picking up things off the ground without having to prep myself- it's really the little things in life... :o)

Movement: Yep- he's kinda more rolling around in there than practicing Kung Foo.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week- so grateful!

Cravings: Chocolate this week- we had to hide the leftover candy we bought for my 6-7 year old primary class at church, so I wouldn't eat it all... again with the healthy eating... too much sugar is no good for this Mama!

Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks still, every couple days I get a weird feeling in my belly, which I'm 90% sure is Braxton Hicks after talking to my doctor and several of her nurses on the phone...

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: This week, walking is hard because my belly is HEAVY!  It hurts under the belly- feels like I'm carrying rocks under there.  So, I'll be getting a band/ belt thing this weekend to help carry the weight.
Belly Button in or out? It's about at the midway point- not quite in but not quite out.  Nathan comforts me by telling me I'll make it another 6 weeks without it popping out- here's to wishful thinking!
Wedding rings on or off? Off, but still loving my replacement pearl ring!  One of my therapy kids says it's "so cute" and that it looks like a little egg.  :o)
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy- only can think of a couple moody moments, but I usually just needed to go to bed when it happened... turns out sleep really helps! :o)
Looking forward to: A relaxing weekend, cooler weather around the corner, maybe do some baby prep?

33 weeks- 7 weeks to go and counting! That is, if he decides to be on time... :o)

How far along? 33 weeks
Baby's size? about 17-19 inches, over 4 lbs (around 4.5 lbs?).  The size of a
Durian Fruit (whatever that is..) or the size of a pineapple (again?).  These baby websites really need to get together and agree on one food item for each week...
Total weight gain: 34 lbs- I'm really just adding a pound a week like the books say!
Maternity clothes? Yep!  And now I have more church clothes options (Thanks Pamela!)
Sleep: It's getting harder to get comfortable to fall asleep, even with my faithful wormy (i.e. body pillow).  I'm also not allowed to eat sugar in the evenings- it totally stimulates the baby and me!  So we end up with a kicking baby and fully awake mama, which doesn't equal sleep.  So far, taking out the evening sugar has really helped!
Best moment(s) this past week: My cooking date with Nathan and throwing a baby shower for Allison (with the help of the lovely Lara- thank goodness!  it's a lot of work for being 7 months pregnant :o)- yay for having baby boys close to each other!  Also, yay for yummy food!
Miss Anything?  Eating raw cookie dough!  Cookies are delicious, but I'm totally having my sister-in-law bring me cookie dough to the hospital!  :o)
Movement: Yep! We had fun last night putting our cell phone on my stomach and watching it move while we were talking to my parents on speaker phone :o)
Anything making you queasy or sick: A day with too much sugar and too much greasy food... it wasn't pregnancy sick, more like "I just ate a bunch of crap and my body is mad at me" kind of sick.  Blah.  Good lesson to remember- just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean that eating whatever you want is a good idea.  Gotta still eat healthy!
Cravings: Orange juice!  Man, I wanted it bad yesterday... good thing we have leftover bottles from the baby shower in the fridge!
Labor Signs: Still some Braxton Hicks, or at least what I think is Braxton Hicks... I feel like the internets, books, birthing class, and OBGYN all have different descriptions of what a contraction feels like...
Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: Having lower back/ hip pain that makes walking a bit hard.  The best cure so far- sitting on a heat bad!
Belly Button in or out? Mostly in... it's not out until it's 100% out!  :o)
Wedding rings on or off? Off, but still loving my replacement pearl ring!
Happy or Moody most of the time: More happy this week!  I was good at asking for help this week, which really helped keep the moodiness away.  Yay for sweet husbands!
Looking forward to: Swimming, like every week :o)  My baby shower next week!  So excited! (and if you didn't get an invite, look in your email junk box or contact me- I may have an old address for you, but you're still welcome to come celebrate!)

32 weeks

How far along? 32 weeks
Baby's size? still about 16.5 inches, 3 13/4 lbs.  The size of a squash or large jimaca.
Total weight gain: 33 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yep!
Sleep: Had some trouble falling asleep this week- just too many things on my mind!  Turns out reading the scriptures helps calm this pregnant lady down :o)
Best moment(s) this past week: Getting so much done on the baby room (yay for in-law's help!). Swimming!  Another great birthing class- we're ready a little more prepared to push this baby out! :o)
Miss Anything?  Gooey eggs!  Love me some over easy eggs, but baby diet says I have to eat it thoroughly cooked :o(
Movement: Yes!  Sometimes is really violent and make my whole stomach move.  More and more, it's just him hanging out really high (so it's hard to breath) or really low (so it feels like my pants are pinching me).  I just keep telling myself that movement is good, even if it hurts me :o)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week.
Cravings: Today was chocolate and Ninja Turtle mac and cheese- I think I'll be a pretty good mommy for a little boy :o)
Labor Signs: I think I had some Braxton Hicks this week, just a couple of times (literally, 2 times that I can remember...)  Just a tight squeezing in my belly, not enough to hurt, just enough to think, "hey, that was weird".
Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: Getting sore in other parts... it feels like I've been riding a horse and I'm sore, you know, in that region.  At the birthing class, the nurse said that it would be common the weeks before delivery.  And as I'm 8 weeks out, it's about the right time.  So yay!  I'm learning to be a cowgirl without the horse! :o)
Belly Button in or out? Both!  Normally, it's still in.  But the other night when I was laying down with my feet propped up, I reached to adjust my feet pillows, and POP!  It just came out!  When I laid back down (quickly since the whole situation weirded me out), my belly button went right back in.  Nathan thought it was pretty cool; I cried over how ugly it looked.  Good times :o)
Wedding rings on or off? Off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: A nice combination of both, sometimes in the same day and within hours.  Man, it's like this baby has changed the chemicals in my body!  :o)
Looking forward to: Swimming!  Getting a massage (didn't have time last week)!!  School being in session (my work went from 30 therapy sessions down to 20 a week with kiddos going back to school- yay for more time to rest and prep for baby!)

Sunday, August 17, 2014

31 weeks with dinosaurs!

Posing next to our practice dinosaur decal for the baby room- so cute!

How far along? 31 weeks
Baby's size? over 16 inches (? so like 16.5?), 3 1/2 lbs.  He weighs about as much as a coconut!
Total weight gain: 32 lbs- just 2 additional pounds, I can deal with that!
Maternity clothes? Of course, but I'm so looking forward to September!  I have a couple cute shirts I want to wear for the month of cool (below 100 degrees... :o) before my little boy arrives.  Though I love them enough to totally wear them for the months after birth before I fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes.
Sleep: Pretty good- it's getting harder to get comfortable when I first lie down.

Best moment(s) this past week: Having my therapy kiddos be super sweet- one ran up to me, hugged and kissed my belly, and said, "tu bebe, so cute!" (bilingual kiddos that's picking up phrases from older siblings in English :o)  Also been enjoying the company and help of my in-laws and actually enjoyed my first birthing class.

Miss Anything?  Having energy!  I've been quite tired this week and maybe ought to be going to bed at 9 pm like my body is telling me...

Movement: Yep!  He's starting to move more and more during the day as well as his regular night time movement.  Nathan is extra concerned that the baby will get tangled with all the movement, but I keep reminding him that movement is a good thing!  Although sometimes not comfortable for me...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just brushing teeth, but the extra mucus in my nose/ throat in the mornings isn't helping either...

Cravings: Today was chocolate and Ninja Turtle mac and cheese- I think I'll be a pretty good mommy for a little boy :o)

Labor Signs: Apparently, the pain I've been having wasn't Braxton Hicks, but some sort of ligament pain (going bug my doctor about it this week at my appt).  So, I guess I haven't felt any false or real contractions yet.  I'm going to pay more attention this week because apparently I should be having some Braxton Hicks by now to get things moving, but may not be noticing them yet.

Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: Baby hiccups!  I know, I know, just another good sign that my little boy is healthy and well.  But man do they drive me crazy!  Little, rhythmic movement for about 5 minutes, over and over, and I can't stop it!  It's like those kids in high school that would jiggle their foot on the book rest under your desk, so your desk would jiggle.  And he gets them at least once a day!  Guess I'm just learning patience already... :o)

Belly Button in or out? Still in but getting close to leveling off...
Wedding rings on or off? Off still, and my pretty replacement ring got pretty tight this week too!  It's HOT in Texas!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, but moodiness when I'm tired or in pain (some days it's even harder to walk with the hip and weird ligament pain :o(
Looking forward to: Swimming! (every week is a swim week right now...) More family time with the in-laws, getting a massage (my poor muscles!), and maybe going to an animal shelter- I need to snuggle some kitties :o)

Back online with week 30

We're back!  After a couple weeks of crazy (work, family reunion, and saying goodbye to my kitty...), I've found time again to have fun documenting the THIRD trimester!  Yay!

How far along? 30 weeks
Baby's size? 15-16 inches, 3 lbs.  As long as a cucumber, or the size of a large cabbage.  Apparently he'll be gaining 1/2 lb a week from now out!  Wow!  Think my belly is big now, just you wait! :o)
Total weight gain: Still at 30 lbs, no complaints about maintaining and Ms. Doctor didn't comment on my weight at my appt this week :o)  But then again, she never does unless I ask...
Maternity clothes? Yep.  Got a new dress for church though, so I feel better at church with another option. I only had 2 dress/ skirt options for the last couple weeks, which if you know me at all, was really hard for me.  Thank goodness for the Loft outlet nearby, extra large sizes, and tax free weekend :o)
Sleep: Great!  It's nice to be home in my comfy bed and body pillow!  Nathan has been complaining that I snore more these days, so I must be getting enough sleep :o)

Best moment(s) this past week: This week has not been my favorite, but I did have a wonderful trip to Idaho and Yellowstone with my family.  I got to see some wonderful cousins (some that I haven't seen in a long time), see/meet their growing families, go berry picking, visit and unplug at a beautiful national park (and made much better memories than the last time we went... so so cold in the winter on snow mobiles... :o), see real live bison, catch up with old friends, and enjoy seeing how well my sweet husband fits in with the extended family (they're pretty laid back, but it's just nice to see everyone getting to know him :o)

Miss Anything?  Getting up like a normal person!  It's hard to even get up from sitting and super uncomfortable to walk for a couple minutes after changing positions.

Movement: Yes and yes!  He dances/ practices kung fu during the day as well as during bedtime.  We put a little book on my tummy one night, so Nathan could see all the wiggles (idea from the in-laws).  Nathan's wide eyes and the book vibrating like crazy made my night!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just the occasional toothbrush experience.

Cravings: Macaroni and Cheese!  But the spirals or shapes, not the normal noodles.  And store brand and Kraft are equally good- but they have to be dinosaurs or teenage mutant ninja turtles...

Labor Signs: K, people, Braxton Hicks (false labor pains) are very much my enemy these days.  So random, and so unpleasant! It's like someone stabbing you with a little knife for just a few seconds.  Not terribly painful (I mean, compared to what real labor will be like), but definitely not on my top favorite things about being pregnant list.

Gender: BOY!
Symptoms: This week our favorite symptom is the emotional roller coaster ride!  Mind you, it's been terribly hard with losing my kitty this week (had to happen when I was pregnant...), but I've also had the feels when listening to cute kids sing at church and when watching a you tube video.  Or when I was just super duper tired.  Poor husband has a harder time predicting it now...

Belly Button in or out? In but just barely.  Nathan wants to take a picture when it's neither in or out :o)
Wedding rings on or off? Still off, but I tried it on today, and it fits my pinky just fine!  Gotta love the fingers swelling...
Happy or Moody most of the time: Just lots of feels...
Looking forward to: Going out to eat for Nathan's birthday, swimming, in-laws coming in town for a visit, and for school to start (I'm losing some speech therapy kiddos, so I won't be as busy at work!  Yay for slowing decreasing my caseload!)

Saturday, July 19, 2014

26 weeks- I'm 6 months along as of yesterday!

How far along? 26 weeks!! Only 3 months to go! Nathan tells me to think about it being a whole quarter of a year left.  Here we come October 18!
Baby's size? 13.6-14.8 inches, 1.5-2.2 lb. The size of a lettuce head!
Total weight gain: I'm at 28 lbs this week, so my doctor must have been right!  Lost 2 lbs (probably all water), and I can see my ankle bones this week with the decrease in swelling!
Maternity clothes? Yep!  That's all I can fit into- unless it's Nathan's pj pants :o)
Sleep: Pretty good, though some nights I'm in bed by 9 pm like an old lady.  Or maybe like a soon to be mother who knows her child-free days are numbered... :o)

Best moment(s) this past week: The rainstorm!  We had a wonderful rainstorm in Austin and it brought the temperature down to the 70s.  70s, people!!  That doesn't happen in Texas in July!  I feel very grateful to be pregnant during this summer compared to many hotter ones in the past.  Also, the baby room is now BLUE as seen in the picture above.  I love it!

Miss Anything?  Walking normal and getting up from sitting/ laying easily.  Man, it's getting harder and harder, with more uncomfortable to painful feels. Really hot baths, eating salty foods without worrying I'll get elephant feet.

Movement: Nathan felt the baby!!  Yay!! So excited he finally felt our little boy move!  He said it felt like I was having indigestion, except for he usually can't feel my stomach having issues :o)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.  Super grateful that it was only during my first trimester.

Cravings: Mexican, maybe?  We did cook it twice this week, but no complaints here! :o)

Labor Signs: Still having some sharp pains here and there, but nothing frequent or consistent

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Not being made of hinges... it sure is hard bending these days... increased nose blowing (allergies were up this week, so it was even more fun than usual :o)

Belly Button in or out? In for now..
Wedding rings on or off? I have a new beautiful ring made by my sis-in-law Camberley.  Yay!  Thanks sista!!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy 80% moody 20%  I'm currently shut up in the bedroom to keep me quarantined (self inflicted, of course :o) until my sudden grumpiness passes....
Looking forward to: Going to a family reunion in Idaho to see my mom's side of the family, being in cooler weather, sanding and staining the baby dresser we got at a garage sale many moons ago.  Baby project time! :o)

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

25 weeks- only (about) 15 to go! Yikes!

Fourth of July with Bro-in-law and niece in the background.
Having fun with machine gun in Nauvoo

How far along? 25 weeks!!
Baby's size? 13.6-14.8 inches, 1.5-2.2 lb. We're now doing ranges as babies vary in size, I guess... but it's as big as a cauliflower!
Total weight gain:  30 lbs but Ms. Doctor told me today at my appt that she's not worried about the weight gain as it's probably all in my feet.  Yay for swollen feet!
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Sleep: Some nights good, some nights not so good, but we've been traveling. Hopefully things will be better now that I'm back in my super comfy bed.

Best moment(s) this past week: Playing with my niece and nephew in Iowa!  They're getting so BIG!  And I love that one loves to smile and wave at me (sometimes she'll let me hold her) and the other says my name (when prompted, but it's so great!) and is very insistent that I hang out with him in his pillow fort :o)

Miss Anything?  Not having weird restrictions- hung out with some friends on Saturday that are newlyweds and the first ones married in their families.  It was a bit awkward explaining all the things I needed and couldn't have...

Movement: He's still moving around lots, but still can't feel it on the outside. Poor Nathan is still waiting to feel it!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing much this week.  Just can't stuff myself- I eat a moderate sized meal and then eat again 60 minutes later.  Speaking of which, it's been about an hour after dinner- time for a snack!

Cravings: None really, but I am quite loving chicken this week- so yummy!

Labor Signs: Had a sharp pain on Saturday evening in the tummy- maybe Braxton Hicks contractions??

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Swollen feet and hands, frequently tired, ALWAYS hungry!  Man, I'm eating every 1-2 hours!

Belly Button in or out? In, but getting more shallow!

Wedding rings on or off? All are off (such swollen fingers!), but my sister-in-law Camberley makes beautiful jewelry and she's going to make me a bigger ring.  Yay!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy!  Yay!
Looking forward to: Resting this week!  Working on the baby room (right now it's several shades of pink...).  Maybe getting a massage this week??

Sunday, June 29, 2014

24 weeks and counting!

Man, I'm getting big!  Just look at the belly!!

How far along? 24 weeks!!      Baby's size? Still 11.5 inches and 1 lb! Apparently, it's as long as an ear of corn, though technically nothing has changed... Total weight gain:  We'll go with 25 lbs still as I'm too lazy to weigh myself tonight :o) Maternity clothes? Yep!
Sleep: I snored again last night- yay!  It's a bit harder to sleep while visiting family since the bed is different.  But I've been dreaming more, which hopefully means more REM sleep.

Best moment(s) this past week: Meeting my brother-in-law in person for the first time! Yay for missionaries coming home!  Visiting with my Uncle Scott, Aunt Nettie, James, and Martha and meeting little Zoe!  Also, despite the frequent stop, had a great time driving to Iowa with my Nathan.  I think we're doing pretty good in our marriage if we had a good time on a 16 hour road trip together. :o)

Miss Anything?  Standing up without help or struggling.  Man, things are getting weird at the waist area!

Movement: Lots and lots!  He's still mostly active at night, but sometimes he'll make himself know.  The other day it was when Michael Jackson was on the radio for his birthday or something.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Onions this week- weird since I haven't had problems with food lately.  But man oh man, onions are bad.  Wouldn't kiss Nathan last night because his breath smelled like onions even after brushing his teeth and chewing some gum.

Cravings: Nothing really this week.  I did want ice cream once, but I think it was because I was hot, not really a true craving.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Starting to have trouble bending to pick up things from the ground.  The next 16 weeks are going to be fun!  :o)

Belly Button in or out? In, but now starting to feel/ look less deep.  I may get an outtie yet!

Wedding rings on or off? The substitute ring is getting tight!  And just in time!  It's looking pretty terrible since I forgot to put clear nailpolish on it.  Also, my ring finger has a good amount of gray/ green around it from the ring... time to get a new one!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Had a hard time this week with feeling nervous about being a mommy.  I do appreciate the kind thoughts of so many that I'll be a great mother, but those feelings of inadequacy still come and scare me out of my happy, excited, baby hungry mood.
Looking forward to: More time with the family, my BIRTHDAY!!, visiting Nauvoo this week, 4th of July celebrations in Iowa.

23 weeks

How far along? 23 weeks!!
Baby's size? 11.5 inches,  still 1 lb! A grapefruit this week!
Total weight gain:  25 lbs- yikes!  5 lbs in one week!  I blame the swollen ankles... must be all the water I'm retaining :o)
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Sleep: I snore last night people!  I haven't done that in weeks!  Which means, I slept crazy good!  Yay!!

Best moment(s) this past week: Lots of fun interactions with little kiddos!  Balancing twins on each knee while I try to eat BBQ, having a 2 year old request that I return asap during our visit to Dallas, making a chubby baby laugh and laugh and laugh by just making noises at him.  Just love it!

Miss Anything?  My ankles!  I officially have "kankles" as my ankle bones have almost disappeared- so sad!

Movement: ALL THE TIME!  Mind you, he moves more in the evening, but if I sit for long enough, he'll start moving.  Still sad Nathan can't feel it yet- silly anterior placenta...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Sometimes tooth brushing still.

Cravings: Pizza! I blame the kids birthday party near us when we went swimming- it just smelled SO GOOD!  Thankfully, my husband indulges my few cravings, so we got pizza at Little Caesar's on our way home.  :o)  I'm such a lucky lady!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: BOY!

Symptoms: Still forgetting so much!  My Spanish at work is getting pretty fun thanks to slowing thinking skills.  :o)

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? Off, but with a substitute $5 ring.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!  My one moody day, Nathan was just wonderful and got be my life staples- pizza and swimming!  So, life is pretty wonderful :o)
Looking forward to: Meeting my brother-in-law (he has been in Australia on his mission for the past 2 years, since I've Nathan) and spending time with Nathan's family.

22 weeks

How far along? 22 weeks!!
Baby's size? 11 inches, 1 lb! A pomegranate
Total weight gain:  Still 20 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Sleep: Still sleeping better, but it sure seems like I need to go bed earlier...

Best moment(s) this past week: Feeling the little guy move!  I'm having fun figuring out if there's a pattern or if he likes certain foods/ music.  Not sure how much he pays attention out side of his little womb, but it's fun imaging his little brain going.  :o)

Miss Anything?  Still my memory- man I forget everything!

Movement: Yes!!  He had fun at the temple and danced a lot while listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack- he's already a fan!   Good boy! :o)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Cravings:  Brownies!  Thankfully, Camberley did an experiment with brownies, which means she couldn't take them to church (they didn't cut well), but I got to eat them up!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Gender: BOY!  It's so nice to have a gender specific pronoun!!

Symptoms: Still tired- man, making a baby takes a lot of energy!

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? Off! Still wearing my substitute Clair's ring.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!  It's been a great week!
Looking forward to: Spending time with family and friends in Dallas!

Monday, June 9, 2014

21 weeks! Baby BOY to arrive in 19 weeks and counting!!

How far along? 21 weeks!!  Baby's size? 10.5 inches, 12.5 oz! A pomegranate  Total weight gain:  20 lbs. Maternity clothes? Yep!  Still need to get new shoes...
Sleep: Better sleep this week- I'm getting the hang of turning over with my giant body pillow!  (or as I fondly call it, the worm.  sometimes it tries to attach Nathan :o)
Best moment(s) this past week: Swimming!!  Huzzah!!  And tubing!  Just love the water and sunshine- they help keep the feels manageable.  Also, felt a super strong movement/ kick from the little man during church today!  It was fun and strange having such a strong feeling that's not from me.  :o)
Miss Anything?  My memory/ thinking skills.  It's been a rough week at work trying to get things settled for the summer, especially with my lack of problem solving skills...
Movement: Yes!!  A big one today at church!  Now I'm having fun trying to figure out how to make him move- sitting, laying, singing, eating certain foods
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Cravings:  Hard boiled eggs- I think I need more protein in my diet... :o)
Labor Signs: Nope.
Gender: BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was quite a surprise since I really felt like it was a girl.  And then, his boy parts were 100% visible and recognizable as such.  We're really quite excited and are having fun figuring out names and nursery decoration ideas (the baby room is really really PINK right now, even the ceiling fan, so we'll have to change some things :o)
Symptoms: Fatiguing faster- grocery shopping was a beast this week, even with Nathan and sister-in-law Camberley helping out.  Also, not being able to eat as much in one sitting.  I sure feels like that the little man pushes back when I overeat.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Off! Still wearing my substitute Clair's ring
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little bit more happy this week.   Nathan has been amazing and talking to some friends has really helped.  As well as sun and water!  Yay for summer time!
Looking forward to: Dillon (little brother) moving to Dallas, seeing him and the parents in a few weeks, Nathan's brother Kyler coming home from his mission, spending the 4th of July visiting Nathan's family.  Let the summer travel and visitors begin!

We made it halfway! 20 weeks!

Feeling silly this week :o)

How far along? 20 weeks!!  Huzzah!!
Baby's size? 10 inches (from head to toe, apparently we were measuring from head to bum before), 10 oz! A butternut squash, or the length of a banana or carrot.  This baby is getting BIG!
Total weight gain: Still like 17 lbs, we'll see what the doctor says this week thought :o)
Maternity clothes? Yep, but doing laundry every week isn't my favorite...
Sleep: Some sleep, some resting at night.  Not sure how much REM I'm actually getting...
Best moment(s) this past week: Seeing old friends, even if just for a short visit.  Surviving 11 kids in my primary class with just me.
Miss Anything?  Cold lunch meat sandwich, easy over eggs, and brownie batter
Movement: Yep!  Every couple days
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week.
Cravings:  Ice cream!  But only chocolate chip or mint chip
Labor Signs: Nope.
Gender: We'll know this week! So pumped!
Symptoms: stiff hands are lasting longer than the morning
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Off! Still wearing my substitute Clair's ring
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty moody.  Man!  The baby hormones are strong in this one!
Looking forward to:  Swimming (it MUST happen this week!), finding out the baby gender, and the start of summer!
