Months 4 & 5- opps!

December ran away from me! Anyone else in the same boat?? It was a wonderful, busy month, with me mostly feeling well. Yay for 2nd trimester!

How far along? 22 weeks

Baby's size?
About the size of a spaghetti squash

Maternity clothes? Yep! I still need to figure out a better coat for the colder days we're having in Austin- I just don't want to buy one since it hardly gets cold here and I don't know if I'll be pregnant in the winter for any future pregnancies (For the nosy ones, we say we want 4-5 kids, but we'll see if 3 breaks us since that's supposed to be the hardest... ;)

Sleep: Very stressful dreams still! My pregnancy apps and websites say it's because I'm anxious about this "new life change", but I really feel quite content about it when awake, so who knows 💁 Only getting up about once for a potty break, so not too bad. Thank goodness for my body pillow- it sure makes a difference for sleep!

Best moment(s) this(ese) past month(s): It's been so fun showing Diana Christmas now that she's old enough to understand more of what's going on. Simon was so cute showing her all the things he remembered from last year! We did an advent calendar again, reading just one scripture in Luke a day and then eating a candy. The kids got really into it (yay for the candy!), but it was so sweet seeing how excited they were for "baby Jesus scriptures" and they started repeating what we read if we gave them a couple words at a time. 💓 I so want my kids to have a love for our Savior and the scriptures, and hopefully little traditions like this will help!

Miss Anything? So missing over easy eggs! It's seriously what I want to eat every single morning 😢

Movement: Yes!! The baby is so active, I can do the 10 kick counts pretty quickly at night! Glad that they don't keep me up... yet...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth is still really hard. I can do about 1st minute just fine, but that 2nd minute is the worst! I usually don't make it...

Cravings: November it was mini pizza bagels, now it's mini chicken tacos! Or at least that's what I've been eyeing since I saw a billboard for them at Taco Cabana...

Labor Signs: No way!

Gender: Still waiting for baby to come to find out! And we're both feeling quite content just waiting. Crazy! I thought I wouldn't last!

Symptoms: Still a little tired, especially with battling a cold this week. Hip pain is getting worse, but my OBGYN said she could refer me to a PT if it gets too bad.

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On, but getting a little tight. I can tell I'm starting to swell just a tad.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy! I had a miserable couple days with being sick- thank goodness for Netflix and a sectional couch! Kids on one side, mama laying down on the other.

Looking forward to: Tackling the big baby clothes organizing project! We not have a shed in our backyard that we're sharing with our close friends who gave it to us (they can't have one with their HOA, and plus, moving it is a pain!), so we're moving stuff out of the garage, into the shed. And then hopefully the majority of baby/ kid clothes into the garage and out of their closets! Gotta make room somehow for 3 kids and all their stuff. :o)

3 months!

3 Months!

Hello beautiful world! The sun is shining! I'm feeling less and less nauseated each day! I made dinner this week! Why, yes, I am entering the joyous 2nd trimester! And, my tummy is looking more like a baby bump today 😻

How far along? 14 weeks

Baby's size?
About the size of a lemon 🍋

Maternity clothes? Yep! It's like having a new wardrobe! Except my some pants and shirts don't fit this time... I blame the broken leg on the weight gain 😉

Sleep: Still pretty good! I get so so tired during the day and give into a nap some days, which means I have a harder time falling asleep... 💁 But man, my dreams are still pretty crazy! Luckily, no scary, just a lot of weird details...

Best moment(s) this past month: Had a wonderful time in Florida for Christa's wedding and visiting my dad! I was pretty sick at some moments, but made it through the trip with some great memories!

Miss Anything? Enjoying food- it's seriously stinks when everything sounds terrible to eat 😢

Movement: Maybe? I thought I felt something last night while falling asleep...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still loving carbs! Lots of smells, and driving in a car, even if I'm driving, I'm just super sensitive.

Cravings: Eh, not really. Just stuff that doesn't sound awful.

Labor Signs: No way!

Gender: Still waiting for baby to come to find out!

Symptoms: Super tired, nausea, some hip pain (so fun!), but feeling better with my emotions lately- hooray!

Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! It's been so beautiful outside and had a couple really good days last week without any nausea! I even brushed my teeth for the full 2 minutes without any gagging!

Looking forward to: No trips planned for the next couple months. With my leg and air conditioning breaking the same day last year and a baby on the way, we're not traveling for the holidays to save money. Definitely will miss being with the family, but also grateful to have relaxing holidays with just our immediate family and some traditions with friends here in Austin. 💗

Month Two

People of the world, I'm so sick! Some days are better than others, but man, I forgot how miserable I am the first trimester!

How far along? 9 weeks!

Baby's size?
Almost 2 inches long!

Maternity clothes? Slowly breaking out the maternity clothes- gotta give my belly room to help with the sickness!

Sleep: Good! Though I've been having the weirdest dreams! 2 nights ago I was Hermione in Harry Potter in a very stressful part of fighting Voldemort...

Best moment(s) this past month: We had a lot of fun when my mom was in town! It's cute to see my kiddos recognize her from facetime chats and get all cuddly with her.

Miss Anything? Over easy eggs- I want them almost every morning! So hard to stay away!

Movement: Still nope- gotta wait a couple more months.

Anything making you queasy or sick:Yep! Carbs are my friends! Meat and chocolate are the worst...

Cravings: anything with rice! Right now I really want Mexican rice.

Labor Signs: Nope!

Gender: We're still going with a surprise baby! Due date and gender reveal party on May 1, 2019!

Symptoms: Still tired lots, and I've been getting to bed before 10 pm almost every night! Time to go to bed by 9 pm... And lots of nausea- but thankfully keeping most of the food down!

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? Still on.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Super moody all. the. time. It's been really hard with being sick.

Looking forward to: Christa's wedding! Nathan and I will get 4 blissful days to ourselves while some dear friends take care of our kiddos. Yay for a babymoon! I'm so excited for Christa to be getting married (and am prepared to cry through the whole thing), but man, 4 days without kids will be amazing too!

Month 1

Confession- I have a problem. I like being in control. And knowing what's going on. And so, with just trying for 2 months, and with the help with ovulation tests, we're already expecting baby #3! (To my dear friends who have fertility difficulties, please feel free to curse my name and throw darts at my photo- whatever helps! I can't even imagine the heartache and trials you go through.)

How far along? 5 weeks!

Baby's size?
A size of a sesame seed!

Maternity clothes? Naw- I'm still carrying weight I gained after breaking my leg, so here's to hoping I don't get too big or gain much weight this time around.

Sleep: Mostly good! Had a couple hard nights before I realized I was pregnant, but now I'm just having trouble getting to bed. Nathan is working late this week, and turns out he's really good at telling me to go to bed!

Best moment(s) this past month: Finding out I was pregnant! Seriously- this last week was awful! I burnt myself pretty bad cooking in our deep fryer, had a sick daughter, overflowing diarrhea toilet, broken lamp, and 2 cuts from said broken lamp. But finding out I was pregnant after those 2 hard days- it was just a huge blessing! Mind you, I'm starting to get more cranky this week, so it's not all sunshine and roses. But man, it was a nice ending to that no good, terrible week.

Miss Anything? Ibuprofen! I have a small headache today, and acetaminophen is just worthless.

Movement: Not yet- too small!

Anything making you queasy or sick: And it starts... I felt sick last night from eating too much, and today because I think I'm not eating enough... I just can't win!

Cravings: french fries for like a minute, then they sounded horrible...

Labor Signs: Not yet.

Gender: I think we're going to have a surprise baby this time! We always said it would be fun to have a surprise one once we had a girl and a boy, and we do, so we'll see how long that lasts ;-)

Symptoms: So so tired! And starting to feel sick

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On! I got mine resized after my hands never really got back to their regular size. We'll see how long it lasts.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy in the morning when I have patience, moody in the afternoon until Nathan comes home, then happy again! 2 young kids while pregnant is no joke!

Looking forward to: My mom coming in town- she's coming right in time for my first dr appt and ultrasound!

8.5 months- so so close!

This was the week for doctor's appointments! Monday was my version at the hospital to turn baby girl head down (she's been breach for over a month now)- it worked! Wednesday was my (hopefully) last specialist appointment for my gestational diabetes- blood sugar is still diet controlled and baby girl is 6 lbs, 13 oz (40 percentile). Today was my regular weekly appointment with my OBGYN- no signs/symptoms of pre-eclampisa! I'm 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced, so the doctor is anticipating baby will come before my next appointment with her next Thursday- hooray! Just doing the waiting game here- so excited!

How far along? 38 weeks! We're almost there!

Baby's size?
She's 6 lbs, 13 oz, 40 percentile, which is super good for having gestational diabetes!

Maternity clothes? All the time! Some shirts are beginning to be too small though... :o)

Sleep: So hard to get out of bed for bathroom runs at night! And to turn over! And some nights I have trouble falling asleep. But I try to enjoy these sleep difficulties before I have a little lady keeping me up at night :o)

Best moment(s) this past month: Getting stuff done! Who knew that checking off items off your crazy nesting to-do list would feel so satisfying! Also, I really enjoyed the last couple weeks of work teaching at University of Texas- yay for a happy ending!

Miss Anything? Not hurting while I walk- that is the pits!

Movement: Yep! She moves differently these days, especially since we had her turned on Monday (via a version at the hospital- ouch!), so she's now head down.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really- sometimes eating too much fatty food hurts my gall bladder, but that's from before pregnancy.
Cravings: Not really. My sugar cravings really have calmed down since I've had to cut back so much with the gestational diabetes- a blessing though it's been hard at times.

Labor Signs: Yep! Every night I have 2-3 good ones (30+ seconds long) before I fall asleep. Yay for getting ready to have a baby!
Gender: Girl! Still working on cutting down our name list :o)

Symptoms: Pain when I walk, fatigue (naps everyday!), feeling large.
Belly Button in or out? It's mostly flat, but sometimes it pops out!

Wedding rings on or off? On! And my hands haven't really swollen at all, so that's good for the pre-eclampsia watch I have going on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time, but I cried yesterday and today due to being in pain. I slipped on one of Simon's toys last night, didn't fall, but catching myself caused my body to stretch more that it can these days, so I've been pretty owie.

Looking forward to: The baby coming! Even with not sleeping once she's here (and major body recovery, no matter how she ends up coming), it has to be better than how uncomfortable I feel these days! Bring it!

7 Months down, who knows how many months/ weeks to go!!

This month has just flown by! So much to do, and it seems like we're running out of time! Anyone was to come over and help me hang pictures and caulk the bathroom?? Because, of course, those projects must be done before baby comes. :o) I didn't have the "nesting" instinct much when I was pregnant with Simon (maybe since I was so busy working full time), but it's been an adventure this time around!

How far along? 31 weeks! Counting down the weeks with everything left we have to do...

Baby's size?
the internets say say over 16 inches long and about 3.5 lbs, but her last ultrasound 2 weeks ago had her at 3 lbs 4 oz, so she's probably bigger than 3.5 lbs now. I have another appointment with the specialist (yay for extra ultrasounds! One of the perks of gestational diabetes :o) this week, so we'll see how much she's grown in 3 weeks!

Maternity clothes? Yep! Gotta get me some new cool shirts now that the temperature is climbing- yay for Texas springtime!

Sleep: Heartburn and a busy, planning all the things brain are what keep me up usually. And add in one trip to the bathroom a night, and sleep is getting more tricky. Gotta get to bed earlier!

Best moment(s) this past month: Having a roommate for the weeks that Nathan was working crazy hours was such a blessing! It was also wonderful having my dad visit for a couple days- Simon started saying Grandpa and everything! And lastly, having my husband home and not working 60+ hour weeks since Wednesday has been wonderful! Yay for (hopefully) the end of a busy season at work!

Miss Anything? Being able to move easily and not being in pain! Rolling over at night is ridiculously hard, and the lower back/ hip pain has moved into the fun sciatic pain that runs all the way down the leg- yikes!

Movement: She's crazy in there! Especially at night and when we get a big storm (which seems to be once a week these days!) I don't remember Simon banging so many organs in there, so I'm a little worried little lady will somehow be more active that him!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope- thankfully that part of my pregnancy seems to be over.
Cravings: None that I can think of right now

Labor Signs: The Braxton hicks has been kicking it up a notch, but thankfully it still goes away with rest and water.
Gender: Still a girl on all the ultrasounds!

Symptoms: Acid reflux is a beast! And sciatic pain stinks. It's also hard moving if I stay in one position for too long- got keep mixing it up!
Belly Button in or out? On the verge of popping out! I just noticed it a couple days when Simon demanded to see what was under my shirt when I told him baby sister was in my tummy! So sweet! Here's to hoping he doesn't get too jealous when she arrives.

Wedding rings on or off? On! So grateful I went ahead and got my rings resized- it's so nice being able to still wear them! I'm also not swollen at all in the hands and feet this time (though I'm not sure how much they went back the last time...)
Happy or Moody most of the time: I've definitely been more moody this month, but it's been a rough time with Nathan being so busy. So so glad to have him back in Austin and working less!

Looking forward to: Last temple trip before baby comes, finishing up projects around the house (the cars aren't going to clean themselves! and that definitely needs to be done before lady comes :o), and spending lots of time with my boys before our world is turned upside down becoming a family of 4!
